Thanks To Obamacare, Oregon Cut Its Uninsured Population By 10 Percent Over The Past Two Weeks--PLUS COMMENT BY TONEY ATKINS
From ThinkProgress.org
Toney Atkins' suggestion: While computer glitches are being worked on the health care internet site, why doesn't the government simply send printed copies (yes, on paper -- remember paper?) to every citizen of the United States explaining the health exchanges and allowing them to make choices without having to deal with the hassles of the Internet? Back in the mid-80s, before many people had computers, booklets informing the public about HIV/AIDS were sent to all U.S. households and provided essential information as it was known at the time. Yes, it would be "snail mail" and probably expensive, but at least the public would be aware about what is on the Affordable Health Care Act site and be able to react in the old fashioned way. This would avoid our not having to listen to anti-Obamacare talking heads complain about computer glitches and not even giving the program a chance to work. Just sayin'.
