Toney Atkins comments: All the hoopla is not really needed. Phil will be back on the show when it returns to A&E in January ... not really hard to believe and certainly not surprising, even before the story gained steam and garnered lots of publicity and stirred up some hate. Some readers have commented to me that it's intriguing that most published and televised stories about the Duck Dynasty controversy have centered on his remarks about homosexuality, the issue of racism that he also talked about (and essentially admitted) in the interview with GQ has been virtually ignored except on a few liberal TV talk shows. Phil has the right of free speech, people who like it have a right to agree, folks who disagree or get angry have a right to disagree and get angry, also part of free speech. Wouldn't it be nice if people used free speech for love, peace and truth instead of hate, ugliness and ignorance of the facts, Phil recently acknowledged that he lived a life of sin, sex and rock and roll until he found Jesus. Just another example of "Do as I say, not as I did" that the older generation always propagates, especially after they find the Lord. Don't worry about Phil. He will do okay.
