Miss an episode of "The Bible" or "Vikings"? Check out the above link.
Toney Atkins comments: I kept feeling that I was watching a Reader's Digest-style version of the Bible and occasionally had trouble keeping up with some of the Old Testament characters. They weren't around long enough to work up emotional attachments. However, the acting was adequate and many of the visual effects were awesome. If I were grading the entire show, I would have to give a B-plus to the Old Testament episodes but a hard A once the New Testament kicked in and Jesus appeared on the scene. More spirit seemed to fill the concluding chapters, with fine, believable acting and more of the message coming through. Dramatic special effects added to the emotional tribulations of Jesus, His human death on the cross, and the wonder of His Resurrection. The DVD and Blu-Ray versions of the majestic production, minus commercials for Viagra, rum and other distractions in the televised version, will be available for sale or rent (in some places) on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Highly recommended for church and home audiences.
