Jackie Robinson Starred At Chattanooga's Engel Stadium - 04/22/2007 - Chattanoogan.com
Posted from Chattanoogan.com
Historical note: This story from The Chattanoogan.com and the Chattanooga Times deals with the time that Jackie Robinson played at Chattanooga, TN's Engel Stadium early in his baseball career. Robinson also played in Daytona Beach, FL, my other hometown. The movie dramatizing Robinson's story, titled "42," opened nationwide Friday and was the weekend's No. 1 film. Portions of it were filmed in Chattanooga, using local residents as extras. -- Toney Atkins
